Individual Coaching

I work one-on-one with individuals, addressing all issues surrounding relationships, whether you are working through difficulties with a partner or wanting to heal personal struggles to have healthy relationships in the future. My approach is very much focused on your reality, today – we will explore aspects of your past, but only to understand how it is impacting you in the present.

The client-therapist relationship is the single strongest determining factor of successful therapy – research has found that this matters more than the educational background of the therapist, the modality they use, how long they’ve been practicing, or even what the presenting issue is. Because of this, I offer a complimentary 15-30 minute one-time consult for us to see if working together would be a good fit.

Common topics addressed in individual coaching include:

  • Identifying what a healthy relationship would look like for you

  • Barriers in sustaining happy, healthy relationships

  • Insecurity & self-worth issues

  • Conflict resolution

  • Intimacy issues

  • Communication issues

Couples Coaching

I believe that what you argue about actually matters less than how you argue. Happy and unhappy couples argue about the same things: Trust, money, sex, communication, household labor, and childrearing. The difference is that happy couples know how to navigate these differences. Our work together would explore what you and your partner need so that you turn towards – rather than away from -- each other during conflict.

Couples coaching can be effective for all types of couples, from those who are happy in their relationships and want to gain the tools needed to stay strong, to others who may be on the brink of breakup. Research finds that the average couple goes to therapy 6 years too late. I encourage people to think of therapy like they’re going to a personal trainer: The earlier you start, the smoother and easier the process can be; but if you wait too long, the road ahead can be longer and more daunting. If you and your partner are noticing repeated patterns in your dynamic that are starting to erode your relationship quality, it’s a good time to consider talking to someone.

Common topics addressed in couples coaching include:

  • Communication

  • Conflict

  • Sexual & emotional intimacy

  • Jealousy

  • Gender roles

  • Trust

  • Infidelity

  • Cultural differences

  • Spirituality/religiosity differences

Groups, Workshops, & Seminars

I offer in-depth, intensive workshops to individuals who feel they would benefit from learning in a group setting. Groups can be part of a larger existing conference or educational setting, or they can be individually initiated by people who would enjoy learning collectively. Please note that a group setting would have more of an educational approach and would not be a substitution for couples needing individualized therapy.

Common topics explored in group settings include:

  • Communication

  • Conflict resolution

  • Dating

  • Love

  • Gender roles

  • How to strengthen your relationship

  • What people think vs. what the research says about healthy relationships

Content Consulting

I advise various brands and media companies to help them develop content related to love, dating, relationships, intimacy, conflict and communication. More and more companies are recognizing the need for their content to be not only socially relevant but also factually accurate, and consulting an expert in the field of relationships often brings a level of credibility to their product that distinguishes them from others.
